WE05 Project Profiles – Integrating Water Elements into the Landscape Environment GENESIS 3Date: Wednesday, November 2Time: 8:00 am – 9:30 amDescription: Know your neighborhood – landscape architects bring a sense of the vernacular to the garden scene so that the architecture of the house is married to the land and has a keen sense of appropriateness to its neighborhood. A garden (pool) should feel like it belongs and not be foreign to its surroundings. A close collaboration between designer and pool contractor provides the best results and assures a blend of high design and the latest technology. OvS has demonstrated over the years that landscape architecture brings value added to all components of designing with water, from the master planning process to assure every component of garden design is in the right place through the construction documentation and detailing of the waterfall, lily pool, negative edge pool or simple lap pool.Find out:● know your neighborhood – bring a sense of the vernacular: discover how to marry the property to the land through the use of local materials, explore the use of topography to maintain a sense of appropriateness to your surroundings● a close collaboration: how to maximize the benefits of the partnership between designer and contractor, using design and technology to your advantage● diving deeper: gain insight into the relevant scale and proportion of water within the landscaped environment, learn to create a pleasing pallet of colors that are in concert with both the softscape and hardscape, understand the importance of visual and audible use of water as a mediumSpeaker(s): Eric Groft, ASLA, Principal, Oehme, van Sweden & AssociatesLevel: 200Hours: 1.50 Technical Credit HoursCertifications: IACET, CBP, CSP
